Akii AI Visibility Index
How Akii measures AI visibility
Every visibility figure Akii publishes is an aggregate of its own production scans. This page shows the sample, the scoring, the engines probed, and exactly how each number is reproduced, so you can check the work rather than take it on faith. The figures below are computed live from Akii's production database, last computed 2026-06-20.
The sample
The Index draws on 94,414 completed AI Visibility Score scans run between 2026-01-03 to 2026-06-19. Incomplete or failed scans are excluded. The UAE view is the subset of scans on .ae domains: 7,772 businesses, averaging 25.6/100. Across all completed scans the average is 19.7/100, and 85.7% score below 40 while only 5.3% reach 60 or above.
The 25.6/100 figure is the .ae subset, not a census of every UAE business. We always qualify it that way.
What the 0-100 score measures
The AI Visibility Score is the simple average of four dimensions, each scored 0-100 and weighted equally (25% each):
- Brand recognition
- Whether AI engines know the business exists and can name it.
- Brand understanding
- Whether they describe what it does accurately.
- Content coverage
- Whether there is enough sourced material for AI to draw on.
- Brand sentiment
- How the business is characterized when it is mentioned.
Each scan is evaluated once by an LLM judge against the brand public footprint. Every scan records the exact model used; models evolve over time, so the score reflects the engine of record at scan time rather than a single fixed model. No averaging across repeated probes is applied at score time.
- Content coverage, avg
- 22.8/100
- Brand sentiment, avg
- 23.5/100
- Brand recognition, avg
- 30.3/100
- Brand understanding, avg
- 35.2/100
Across 406,829 scored dimension records.
Per-engine answer visibility
Separately from the score, Akii tracks how often brands actually appear in each engine answer, measured by direct multi-engine probes across 1,840,049 brand-platform-day observations. The average brand appears in only a small share of answers:
- Google AI
- 1.6%
- ChatGPT
- 3.4%
- Perplexity
- 3.5%
- Copilot
- 4.3%
How AI characterizes brands
Across 11,863 audited AI responses, 98.3% are neutral, 1.7% positive, and 0% negative. Neutral is not a win: it means AI says little useful about the business, so it is not positioned as a trusted option. The goal is accurate, specific, recommendation-worthy mentions, not merely the absence of negative ones.
How these numbers are produced
The figures on this page are aggregates computed directly from Akii production tables and refreshed daily: completed AI Visibility Score scans (score, distribution, dimensions), multi-engine probe results (per-engine visibility), and audited AI responses (sentiment). They are anonymized counts, averages, and percentages only; no individual business record is exposed. Because they come from the live database, they shift slightly as new scans land, which is why every claim links back here rather than to a frozen number.
What this is not
- Not a census. Scans are self-initiated and skew toward businesses curious about their AI visibility, so the sample is not a random draw of all UAE companies.
- The UAE figure is the
.aedomain subset, not every business operating in the Emirates. - AI answers vary run to run. Each score is a single point-in-time evaluation, not a guaranteed-stable measurement.
- Akii sells AI visibility services, so read the framing as analysis from a vendor, not neutral academic research.
Data dictionary
What each figure means.
- AI Visibility Score (0-100)
- The headline score for a business. The equal-weight average of the four dimensions below.
- Brand recognition / understanding / content coverage / brand sentiment
- The four dimensions, each scored 0-100: whether AI can name the business, describe it accurately, has enough sourced material to draw on, and how it characterizes it.
- Per-engine answer visibility (%)
- The average share of probed AI answers in which a brand appears, by engine, across the multi-engine probe observations.
- Characterization sentiment (%)
- The share of audited AI responses about brands that are neutral, positive, or negative in tone.
- Completed scan
- A scan with status = completed. Failed or incomplete scans are excluded from every figure.
- UAE (.ae) subset
- Completed scans on a .ae domain. The 25.6/100 average is this subset, never a census of all UAE businesses.
